6.  COMMITTEE REPORTS:
A. Trailmaster:
Subsection:  Trailmaster Report.  Donald Roux
A couple of weeks ago the trails were excellent.  Now the warm weather
and soft snow has defeated good riding.  However, more cold and snow
are on the way.

o        Alternate Trail off High Street needs a bridge

Subsection:  Administrative Update.  Steve Perham
Absent.

Subsection:  Maintenance Update.  Dave Leck
o         All equipment is up and running.
o        Lebanon is now connected at the end of the Rail Road Bed.
This trail goes as far as East Rochester, NH.
o        City Limits needs to help us with their entrance off the trail system.

Subsection:  Other Items ~ Jim Roux

Jim wished to thank all of the trail crew for their hard work this
season.  He said, “It is a
BIG IMPROVEMENT riding the trails.”  “We
rode last Saturday and the money the Club has spent was worth it.”

B. Membership Committee: Mike Mosher reported that we have 45
renewals.  We have had no business renewals this year.

C. Safety Committee: :  Don Allaire reported on the snowmobile accident in
Sanford.  Speed was a factor in this accident.  Don reminded us all to s-l-o-w
down when we are out.  The Game Warden has been out and is taking
pictures at the Mousam Lake bridge crossing.

D. Activities Committee:  Denise Roux..
Club Trip:  Contact Paul Haven for more information.  Check online at the
Club Trips Link (above).
Our trip scheduled:  January 31st through February 3rd 2008.

E. Scholarship Committee: No Report.  Be thinking of being a volunteer
for this committee.
It takes just one or two private committee meetings.
Three volunteers are needed.  No experience is necessary.  Rules and training
are discussed each year within the committee.

Remember :  that the deadline date for the scholarship application means
that
ALL paperwork, grades, etc. needs to in for review by the March 1st
date.
A March 1, 2008 postmark date is the deadline in getting your
scholarship application in.  (Mentioned:  MSA has a 2-year ruling on
scholarships ~ the committee can work further on this issue.)

F. Club Ride:  The club ride has been cancelled.  Our next ride is scheduled
for January 27th.

Minutes of Meeting #172
January 10th, 2008
5. NEW BUSINESS:
A.
North American Outdoor Adventure:  Brochures are available – see Jim to get
yours or call (800) 727-4379 or visit their website:
www.nawhitewater.com
.
B. Club Maps:  There are 65 maps left for sale.  The club map needs to be revamped
next season due to changes in businesses and trail changes.  Another idea introduced was
to create GPS for locations on the trails to help the 911 situations to aid officials if
problems occur on our trail system.  After the discussion, a motion was made by Dave
Leck to wait until all maps were sold out before making any decision.  This motion was
tabled.  The situation with the maps will be revisited next time to determine how many
maps remain (based on the sales trend) at the upcoming meetings before moving onto the
next step.

C. Board of Directors:    Bob Hansen reported the Ms. Quimby is working with the
state in the Millinocket area in reference to making land available for purchase, so
snowmobiles could have access to our trail systems.  Bob also mentioned that other clubs
are thinking of using GPS coordinates on their trail maps for the 911 systems in their area.

D. The LD Bill: This bill is on the move in the Legislation.  The proposal is to charge
registered snowmobilers a lesser rate if they are part of a snowmobile club.  If they were
not part of a club, their rates would be higher.  Out of state machines would also fall into
two groups, those registered without belonging to a club with a higher rate than those that
do.  Bob Ramsay was on the news speaking of this issue and the funds it would generate
for the state and all of the local clubs.  Bob Hansen also followed up by saying that there
are several bugs to be worked out of this system.  Jim said that no changes would be
made until the summer of the 2009 season.
E.  Registration:  Should snowmobile applications be placed at the Town Hall for joining
a club when the sleds are being registered?  This issue is on hold for now.
F.  Chamber of Commerce: Cindy Roux has been on a fact-finding mission to gather
information for June H. in finding ways to bring a craft fair to Sanford in order to help raise
funds for the Sno-Goers.  One way to perhaps create this fundraiser was to ask the local
business community for their input.  Cindy met with the Sanford Chamber of Commerce to
see if this event would be practical and to gather more input.  This information will be
directed to the Board of Directors for review.
